Aircraft and naval operations: basing, fuel, patrol and landings

Air and sea forces reach where roads cannot, but they run on stricter rules. Plan fuel, bases and boarding carefully and they become your longest reach.

Bases and Hangars

Airstrips unlock aircraft, and Hangars support aircraft basing and fuel. Every aircraft mission needs a friendly qualifying base and enough fuel for the mission and a safe return.

Fuel and operational state

Fighter fuel tanks hold 3,000 km. Watch the army fuel display and operational state: returning or refuelling aircraft cannot simply launch again. Plan the outbound leg, the time on station and the return as one budget.

Gold refuelling is optional and costs 5,000 Gold per jet. It is not needed for starter lessons.

Patrols

A patrol actively defends territory against visible threats and fires according to weapon cooldowns. Each patrol lasts exactly one hour, then returns to a Hangar. Contact does not extend it; another patrol requires a new order.

Aircraft and capture

An explicit aircraft Capture order requires reaching and remaining at the province centre. As with ground forces, flying over a province is not capturing it. See the combat guide for capture rules.

Coastal Ports unlock ships, and ships move through water. Naval transport requires boarding and landing: troops must board before the transport sails, and must land to act ashore.

Boarding firstDo not move a transport before boarding completes.
